Expanding my neuron-power.

Today I'm learning about CSS. I could probably use a refresher on HTML as well but today we focus on CSS. I'm thinking about actually buying a blogspot...thinking about it and "trialing" over at Typepad. I'm not linking to it because I'm mostly playing around to see if I REALLY want to pay for something I get free here. So far the most swaying bit is the photo albums. I like them Typepad photo albums.

Finally reached the ankle rounds on Lisa's sock. Am thinking that an Addi 0 may be a bit too small for this yarn, but these socks will be made on them anyway! They'll be nice and warm and cozy and tightly knit. On a similar subject: too many people in blogland are doing socks. It makes me want to run out and spend my rent money on sock yarn, and darnit, I can't do that. You know, rent NEEDS to be paid. So, everybody, stop writing about your cool sock patterns and showing photos of your beautiful yarn. NOW!

I found it!

My first roomie and I used to make this yummy chili in Nashville and I couldn't remember the name but have been sure that I would know it when I saw it. I haven't seen it for years...until TODAY! Wick Fowler's. YUM! So now I'm wondering if I can buy it it a 10-pack like we used to get it...?

Off to Google...

I am in love.

With THIS YARN and THIS YARN and THIS YARN. Pretty much everything they have.

Yep.

Pumpkin clogs

Yesterday I worked on the second clog for my first pair of felted Christmas slippers. Nearly finished, but I had forgotten to bring my notions bag with me to Thanksgiving dinner so I couldn't sew up the sole. Bummer.

I heart this pattern. Have I mentioned that?

I got my KnitPicks order!

I'm so excited! Now I really need to get busy on those clogs. It's a good thing they are quick, easy and fun or I'd be a very sorry soul!

Here's the yarn in the box:

And here it is out of the box, placed nicely on my bed. I ordered a color card for Wool of the Andes and the Sweet Mary Jane pattern as well as the yarn for the clogs. You can see those in the photo too.

KnitPicks order #1

And in case you wanted to know who was getting what color clogs, I've set this up with notes for each pile, just click on the photo and you will be magically whisked away to the land of Flickr Notes. :o)

Yarn for Felted Clogs

Issues.

Ok, I have many issues, but the main one we'll be dealing with in this entry is my camera. Somehow it doesn't want to let go of the photos that are inside of it and let the world see my beautiful knitting projects. iPhoto opens, it says it's importing, asks if I want to delete them off the card, says it's completed its task...and there are no new photos in iPhoto. They are all still on my camera. Weird.

OK, I'm trying again. Then I'm going to work out, shower and go to work where I will be knitting Clapotis like crazy because I'm addicted to the pattern. Hopefully I can get 2-3 more pattern repeats finished while the wee-one sleeps.

(I won't mention the yarn and pattern book I bought yesterday, because I'm in denial that i bought more yarn...)

Oh my goodness.

I thought I lost Clapotis.

Really. Couldn't find it for, like, minutes!

But I didn't.

Whoosh.

If you've ever been to Japan...

...you MUST read this blog entry. (Jen: You. Must. Read. This.) Be prepared to laugh out loud and wonder HOW things like this get printed and sold...and then recall being in Japan where reading signs similar to these instructions is quite commonplace.

Oh happy!

I'm going to the new LYS tomorrow! Grand Opening!

And my yarn (2 different orders--KnitPicks and YarnsEtc) should be here soon! Oh dear. I'd better finish something(s) before I have 32 projects on different needles...yikes.

I am certifiable...

...and I think that the new list I just put up on the KnittyWIP blog proves that I should officially be diagnosed with startitis majoris. A condition that is only worsened by the fact that I can now put KNITTING down as a category in my budget.

Be afraid, people.

OOooo! And New LYS is opening SATURDAY!

That wasn't so hard...

Whoosh. Putting all my links and buttons back up on the new template wasn't so bad. Guess I remembered more than I thought I would.

And yes, I did copy the HTML to a safe place so next time I feel the urge to redecorate I will have an even easier time.

Piss.

You know, the thing even warns you that "customizable changes will be lost, " so why did I still select yes? I changed the template on this blog (you may have noticed) and lost all the stupid links and cute little buttons I had over there. Argh. I'm not very happy with Kirsten right now. She needs to be beaten. Argh. Now I have to figure it all out again and I'm not even sure this silly template works on a Mac.

Angry. With. Myself.

I'm glad it was Shannon.

She was annoying.

Anyway, on to knitting business.
The mystery of the clog has been solved, but my camera battery is dead and I can't find the other in the mess I call my bedroom so it will remain a mystery to you, fair readers (I mean, Jen). That clog pattern is so cool. Near-instant gratification of the sort I am needing right now with Christmas looming in the not-so-distant future and all.

Worked on a UFO from the past tonight. YAY for me!

p.s. I have NO IDEA how I ended up starting 2 new projects when I'm clearly supposed to be finishing my WIPs.
Really.
No idea.

I love my job.

Is there anything cuter than a 10-month old blowing kisses to herself in the mirror after her bath? I think not.

The cute one, a month or so ago:
Happy baby.

It's Official...

ClapotisButton

I'm knitting with my friend JEN!

HI JEN!!

I love my pink hat.

I finished Coronet and I love it. I got a bit eager and decreased too soon on my first run, so I ripped back, added several inches and re-decreased and now she's a lovely warm hat. I'm so happy. I really enjoy making hats. They're quick, useful and people like them.

Cool.

Was at the coast for the weekend. I was so looking forward to walking along the beach, listening to the ocean, pondering "things, life, what-not..."--but it POURED the entire time I was there. That and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad cold I have kept me from venturing down to the shore. I could look at the amazing huge waves from the house, but still...a bit disappointed that there was no pondering. :o) I did get another repeat done on Clapotis, however!
