Lots to say.

A list.
  • Just joined the knittyboard -- think I have previously but can't remember username or password, so I rejoined. Mostly so I could PM knottygnome and join the WIPalong...just so I can be like Jen mostly. :o)
  • Found gluten-free chili at Fred Meyer. Now that makes Kirsten happy!
  • I LOVE MY CHIROPRACTOR! Tweaked a muscle in my back but he says all will be well and I can work in the morning. YAY!
  • Am currently working on Coronet to keep myself occupied until Jen gets her Clapotis yarn. I like it and can't wait to wear it! Strangely, it is pink. ;O)
  • Must go call and find out when I work tomorrow.
I know I had more to say. Hmm. Oh well. Off to make a phone call.

I have begun.

Clapotis is really a very lovely and simple pattern.
I like it.
My yarn looks really beautiful in it -- nice use of the Lorna's Laces!

Hey! Don't forget to FALL BACK tonight. Yay for an extra hour of sleep!

Clapotis it is!

How exciting! The LL Shepherd Sport will soon be a CLAPOTIS! Well, soon is a relative term...Jen will finish hers in record time and I will fiddle-fart around with it and the many other things I'm busy with and eventually we will both have completed Clapotis. :o) I do have to frog the partial BBBB first. In the frogging will likely come some tears -- or at least a lot of prayers and sadness for little Baby and her supposed-to-be parents. What a mess adoption can be. Sad. Yes, I'm being a bit cryptic. Sorry. Friends adopted Little Girl at birth, raised her for 2.5 months, birth mother took her back. Of course it's a little more complicated than that, but that's the skeleton of the story. Blanket did not get completed and given, and now I'm kind of glad. It would have just been a sad reminder instead of a beautiful cuddly blanket. But it's destiny has changed and as I said before, it will soon be CLAPOTIS! YAY! Redemption. I must focus on that.

Ooo. Must go look at pattern.

So Jen, what colorway you doing? Mine is...umm...can't...umm...just a minute. SOMERSET. Pink and blue and green. Really very pretty. Yummy in fact.

OH I'M SO EXCITED!! EEEEEeeeee!!

Knitting, knitting, knitting! And some other stuff.

I have knitting on the brain. I must be returning to Knitterly Kirsten, or maybe returning to kirs10knits?! I just didn't have time for quite awhile but somehow I'm obsessed again. Not surprising really. Continuing the required Yarn Fast. No big, have loads of yarn here. PLUS my new lace alpaca yarn from JEN. :o)

Anyway, thoughts on knitting:
  1. Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport -- Clapotis or Cozy perhaps?
  2. Isis Wrap from IK -- must try again.
  3. Christmas gifts -- WHAT TO DO?
  4. Must replace Crystal Palace 2.5 dpns SOON. Need to finish mittens. :o)
  5. Finish 2 Branching Outs. Someday.
Other thoughts:
  • It's cold here.
  • I need to work out --OOO! That'll warm me up! Good idea...
  • These jeans are not going to make it as an actual garment that covers flesh much longer...
  • Oh, tea!
  • I LOVE TO KNIT. Wish I could just sit and knit all day long, casting on new items every few hours just to keep things lively...
  • Must get off internet and go work out, need to warm up ASAP!
Bye!

Not included are the nearly-completed mittens I broke a needle on and the Glorianna Scarf that I have cast-on for and frogged twice. I didn't like it on size 5's and cannot seem to find my Addi 3's. Which I may not want to use now that I think about it. May have better luck with something with a bit more drag...must think. But not now. Now I must sleep.

Good night. Have a Merry Wednesday.

Yes, folks. We have a 3-post day here at kirs10knits.

YAY!! I got a PACKAGE in the MAIL! Yay! It was from MeanGirl and has everything a girl could want: yarn, pink paper, bath salts, a postcard from a favorite place and TEA! Did I mention there was YARN??!! Nice soft, teeny-tiny lace yarn to make a snuggly warm Glorianna Scarf out of -- pattern included as well.

What a nice surprise.
Thanks you.

Proof? I can put it into a french braid!

V. exciting. No really. It is. Plus the dumb little faded-out bits look pretty cool in the braid. :O)

Lisa's Hat 2005

I said I would post WsIP, however, I just loaded a bunch of old knitting photos onto flickr and thought I'd share some of those. Besides, I don't have any photos of what I'm knitting right now. I'm not sure I can even remember what I'm knitting right now. A hat...a scarf...some mittens...(oh, one of my Crystal Palace 2.5 dpns was discovered BROKEN in the mittens I have been making for my dear friend MeanGirl...BROKEN! A broken bamboo needle. Can you even believe it? And I can't find anyone who carries them any more either. Arrr.) Anyway, photos of any sort are better than just blah, blah, blah from me...

Now I must go work out.

This photo is a hat I made too big, frogged and remade just right in March 2005. It's Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted. Super-duper soft and warm. :o) I love it and will be making one with opposite colors for myself at some point.

Hmm.

I keep running across this really beautiful Lorna's Laces yarn I bought for a Big Bad Baby Blanket, but the circumstances surrounding the child it was to be created for have left me needing to frog it and make something else. Not sure there are actually any lurkers around here, but if there are: anyone have any ideas of what I can do with 4 skeins of Lorna's Laces Sport that have NOTHING to do with a baby?

WIPs coming soon to a blog near you.

Why am I NOT sleeping?

I have to be up and functioning at 4 in the morning. Why do I lay in bed and stare into the darkness with too many things floating around in my head? Drat.

Well, I have another job -- YAY! Which means that in approximately 6 months I can create an actual YARN BUDGET! If all goes well, that is. Which I am fully expecting...all going well.

Off to try to sleep again.
Sigh.

I was looking through this blog and realized I didn't have a single photo from Sister's wedding here. Shame. I was actually in the wedding--not that you could prove it with photographic evidence! The dresses looked great on everybody and the Bride was exceptionally calm, after the initial hyperventilation episode followed by Father of the Bride and Maid of Honor tearing up.

I loved this wedding. I love my family. I'm glad I have a Brother-in-Law.

:o)

Melodramatic much?

Yes folks, it's either feast or famine here at the Kirs10Knits Blogspot. Consider yourself stuffed.

This is my ADORABLE niece. I love this photo because, yes, she IS melodramatic...quite often. It's very anusing and endearing. I love her.

FINISHED!

I finished it at a l.o.n.g. leaders meeting at church on September 11. Happy, happy, joy, JOY!

I FINISHED JANDA! Can you believe it? It looks so awesome.

There is a bit of a, umm, difficulty in the armpits area however. Anyone have any advice on loosening armpits? Lisa says her arms are going to fall off from lack of blood. Arrr.

But did I mention it's finished?! More photos to follow.
